Pan Zaoyun, secretary of the Yangzhong Municipal Party Committee, said in a speech at the conference that as an island city, Yangzhong cares for green carefully and appropriately. "Green is the background color of Yangzhong and our bigger dream."

Pan Zaoyun said that green elements have been quietly integrated into the lives of Yangzhong people. For example, the popularization of the construction of distributed photovoltaic power stations has allowed more and more people in Yangzhong to enjoy the benefits of "green electricity"; the "fishing and light integration" model has realized the multi-layer utilization of space and the coordinated development of "agriculture + new energy" . In addition, the promotion of new energy vehicles and new energy buses has made the concept of low-carbon travel and green consumption more and more popular.

He said that the Green Energy Development Conference will be another bridge for Daocheng Yangzhong to integrate into the world.

Yangzhong is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhenjiang. It is located in central Jiangsu, on the south bank of the Yangtze River. It is one of the few island cities in Jiangsu. In recent years, Yangzhong has vigorously developed photovoltaic and other green energy industries, and proposed the goal and dream of building a "green energy island".

At the press conference of this conference, Yangzhong Mayor Zhang Dejun said that by 2020, the total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic power generation in Yangzhong city will reach 400 MW.

In addition, party and government agencies, public institutions, and residential communities with more than 50 households will achieve full coverage of rooftop photovoltaic power generation.

As a county, where does Yangzhong's confidence come from? Zhang Dejun said that Yangzhong is one of the few counties in the country with the "full industrial chain" in the photovoltaic industry. The green new energy industry represented by photovoltaics is one of the three leading industries in Yangzhong.

In 2016, Yangzhong was approved to create a national high-proportion new energy demonstration city, which was also the first in Jiangsu Province. The output scale of its green new energy industry reached 34.5 billion yuan.

Zhang Dejun told The Paper that Yangzhong has many successful cases in the photovoltaic industry. For example, the Yangzhong Administrative Center uses 15,000 square meters of roof area for photovoltaic power generation, saving more than 2 million yuan in electricity bills in more than a year.

There is also the "fishing and light complementation" project, which uses photovoltaic power generation on water and underwater aquaculture to form an intensive development model of "water power generation and underwater fish farming", thereby achieving a win-win situation for economic, social and environmental benefits.

Zhang Dejun said that since 2007, Yangzhong has realized the photovoltaic industry from scratch by relying on its own network advantages. It is estimated that by the end of 2017, the scale of the industry will reach 50 billion yuan, and strive to form a scale of 100 billion yuan by the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan".
